Health & Safety Information for Ice Bath and Sauna Use

Ice baths (cold-water immersion) and sauna sessions are intense forms of thermal stress.

They can cause rapid changes in breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure, and may lead to dizziness, nausea, cramps, panic, or fainting. In rare cases, serious medical events can occur, especially if you have an underlying condition or ignore warning signs.

When you should not use these services (or should get medical clearance first).

  • Heart conditions: heart disease (angina, previous heart attack, heart failure, cardiomyopathy)

  • Heart rhythm/device: arrhythmias/palpitations, or an implanted device (pacemaker/ICD)

  • Stroke/clotting risks: history of stroke/TIA, aneurysm, or blood clots (DVT/PE)

  • Blood pressure issues: uncontrolled high blood pressure or very low blood pressure

  • Fainting/seizures: fainting/blackouts, unexplained loss of consciousness, or epilepsy/seizures

  • Breathing conditions: asthma/COPD or breathing issues triggered by heat or cold

  • Cold-specific conditions: Raynaud’s phenomenon, cold urticaria (hives with cold), or severe cold sensitivity

  • Diabetes complications: diabetes with reduced sensation/neuropathy

  • Kidney/serious chronic illness: kidney disease or other serious chronic medical conditions

  • Pregnancy: pregnant or could be pregnant

  • Recent surgery/injury: recent surgery or significant injury (especially within the last 3 months)

  • Heat intolerance: history of heat exhaustion/heat stroke or significant heat intolerance

If you’re unsure whether any of the above applies to you, please speak with a healthcare professional before participating.

Stop Rule and Staff Authority

For your safety, stop immediately and inform staff if you feel chest pain, severe shortness of breath, dizziness/lightheadedness, faintness, confusion, unusual weakness, numbness/tingling, or any severe or escalating discomfort.

You agree that staff may end your session or refuse service at any time if they believe it is unsafe, if you are not following instructions, or if your behavior disrupts others.

Assumption of Risk and Limitation of Liability

By booking or participating at ROKKA STUDIO, you understand and accept that sauna and cold immersion carry inherent risks, including (but not limited to) dizziness/fainting, panic, cramps, dehydration, heat/cold injury, worsening of underlying conditions, and rarely serious injury or death.

You voluntarily choose to participate and assume all risks, known or unknown. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree that ROKKA STUDIO, its owners, employees, and contractors are not liable for injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from your participation, except where liability cannot legally be excluded (for example, gross negligence or wilful misconduct).

Code of Conduct

We’re committed to a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for everyone.

By visiting ROKKA STUDIO, you agree to:

  • Respect others’ space and comfort: keep voices at a reasonable level and share facilities considerately.

  • Follow staff guidance: staff may pause or end a session if they believe it’s unsafe or disruptive.

  • Practice good hygiene: arrive clean, use a towel as required, wear appropriate swimwear, and keep shared areas tidy.

  • Zero tolerance for misconduct: we do not tolerate harassment, intimidation, threats, violence,

discrimination, or abusive language (including on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age).

  • No sexual misconduct: any unwanted comments, advances, touching, coercion, or sexual behavior will result in immediate removal.

If these standards are not met, we may refuse entry, end your session, and/or ask you to leave. In serious situations, we may contact security or the appropriate authorities.

Age Policy

Minimum age to use the facilities: 18 years old.

Intoxication and Fitness to Participate

For safety reasons, no alcohol or recreational drugs before or during sessions.

The Studio may refuse entry or end a session if you appear intoxicated or otherwise unfit to participate.

No refunds are provided where service is refused for safety.

Personal Responsibility and Shared-Space Etiquette

We ask everyone to help maintain a calm, safe environment:

  • Follow hygiene guidance (shower if requested, use towels as required, appropriate swimwear).

  • Enter/exit facilities carefully and stay within time guidance provided by staff.

  • Be considerate of noise, space, and other clients at all times.

Booking, Cancellation, Late Arrival, No-Show, and Overtime

To avoid disputes and keep scheduling fair:

  • Cancellation/rescheduling: must be done at least 4 hours before the appointment to avoid charges.

  • Late arrival: arriving more than 15 minutes late may shorten your session.

  • No-show: will be charged at full session price.

  • Overtime: staying beyond your booked time may result in an additional charge and/or ending the session promptly to respect other bookings.

Packages & Memberships

  • Packages (“Credits”). If you purchase a package, you receive credits that can be used to book eligible sessions at Rokka Studio. Credits are applied at the time of booking (or as otherwise displayed during checkout). Package credits are non-transferable and may not be resold.

  • Validity / Expiry. Package credits and/or memberships may have an expiry or validity period as shown at the time of purchase. Any unused credits expire at the end of the validity period unless required otherwise by applicable law.

  • Memberships (Recurring Billing). If you purchase a membership, you authorize us (via our payment provider) to charge the membership fee on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly) until you cancel. Membership benefits apply only while the membership is active and in good standing.

  • Cancellation of Membership. You may cancel your membership at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated at checkout. We do not provide partial refunds for a billing period that has already started, except where required by law.

  • Changes to Packages/Memberships. We may update package/membership offerings, pricing, or included benefits from time to time. Where a change affects an active recurring membership, we will provide reasonable notice (e.g., by email) before the new price takes effect.

Refunds, Studio Cancellations, and Chargebacks

General policy. Unless required by law, purchases of packages and memberships are non-refundable once purchased, and unused sessions/credits are not redeemable for cash.

Studio changes/cancellations. If we need to cancel or reschedule a session due to operational reasons (e.g., maintenance, safety, staffing), we will offer you the option to reschedule or, where appropriate, reinstate the credit used for that booking.

Chargebacks/disputes. If a payment is reversed, disputed, or charged back, we may suspend any unused credits or membership access associated with that purchase until the matter is resolved.
